We are uncompromising in our commitment to reduce emissions, improve our energy efficiency, and minimize the amount of waste we produce. Our work isn’t limited to our corporate operations and supply chain—we’re also bringing sustainability into the experiences we create in our stores, restaurants, and Marlin Bars.
We’ve taken initial steps, but our journey is far from over. We’ll continue analyzing our impact so we can do more each year to reduce the environmental footprint of our operations.
In 2018, we measured the environmental impact of nearly everything we do at all our stores, restaurants, and Marlin Bars and calculated our first-ever greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory.
We are currently updating our GHG inventory and including additional categories of emissions produced within our apparel supply chain. We look forward to communicating specific goals for improvement in the near future.
We have reduced the amount of energy we use at our retail store locations by installing more energy-efficient LED lighting.
Our Seattle headquarters are accredited with LEED Gold certification for energy efficiency, water usage, air quality, and other important environmental factors.
Our experiences are built on the values of exceptional quality and stress-free living. Sustainability will become another quality you can count on from us.
From featuring local, organic food on our restaurant and Marlin Bar menus to minimizing plastic packaging in our stores, we’re reducing the environmental footprint of the Tommy Bahama experience.
Our Restaurants and Marlin Bars are the fullest expression of the Tommy Bahama ethos: relaxed, carefree living built with quality, creativity, and hospitality. We believe in sourcing the very best ingredients that come from partners committed to long-term sustainability. Rest assured that quality does not come at the expense of our environment.
Our seafood is sourced using the Monterey Bay Aquarium standards, which consider species, catch, and location in its criterion, when possible.
Our beef and pork are all natural and sourced from trusted partners focused on ethical ranching practices.
Our close relationships with local farmers allow us to provide organic produce when possible but always with proximity in mind.
We've minimized the impact of packaging at our stores and will continue finding ways to lessen it further.
We’ve replaced our plastic shopping bags with ones made from at least 95% post-consumer recycled paper and are now making all shopping bags domestically rather than shipping them from overseas.
We’ve implemented simple solutions, like eliminating plastic straws and using compostable carryout containers, and we’re tackling more complex issues like energy use and building materials.
Over the next few years, we will continue evaluating and implementing more sustainable practices at all our restaurant and Marlin Bar locations.
We're using more sustainable materials in our marketing collateral.
of all our printed marketing materials are recyclable and include post-consumer recycled content.
of the signage in our stores are made from recycled materials.
Vellum has been eliminated from all in-store branding materials, and all paper used is either FSC-certified or 100% recycled.
