From the beginning, ease, quality, and hospitality have been the cornerstones of the Marlin Bar concept. Different from our full-service Tommy Bahama Restaurants, Marlin Bars utilize the fast-casual dining model, where you order at the counter rather than at your table, and they feature a specially curated menu.
“People are in a hurry these days and don’t always want to spend hours dining out somewhere. Marlin Bars were created to provide a place for people to stop in and grab a drink and a bite to eat, whether they have 30 minutes or two hours,” said Arturo Coronel, Regional Marlin Bar Manager who’s been instrumental to the creation of this fun laid-back dining concept.
Though there’s plenty of great fast-casual restaurant options out there, what sets Marlin Bars apart is our commitment to warm hospitality and unforgettable service.
“We want to ensure our guests had a place they could frequent and call their own. Marlin Bars create a community around them and become a place where people can socialize while relaxing and enjoying the flavors of Tommy Bahama,” he said. Creating a place where we can kick back and connect with neighbors and old friends, a place where we can meet and make new ones, is a big part of what island hospitality is all about.
“Our teams are trained to engage and build relationships with their guests. We want to get to know you by name. We want to know what your favorite menu items are—and encourage you to try new ones,” Arturo said. “Our Marlin Bars have great food, drinks, and atmosphere, but our teams are what really elevate the experience and set it apart.”
The other aspect that sets it apart? The shopping! Every Marlin Bar features a selection of our most iconic apparel, like our signature camp shirts, sundresses, and more, so you can shop, sip, and savor.
The Flavors of the Islands
When it comes to the menu, you can expect to see some crowd favorites. Think: Mai Tais, our World Famous Coconut Shrimp, and beloved Piña Colada Cake, in addition to bar mainstays like crinkle-cut fries, sliders, and local brews.
“Our menu is small but mighty when it comes to flavor and quality—but don’t let the quick service fool you; everything is made in house,” Arturo said. His go-to order?
“Hands down, the Ahi Poke Bowl with a Cucumber Smash cocktail. There’s nothing better than that on a sunny day on the patio!”

On the Horizon
Keep an eye out for a Marlin Bar cropping up near you! In 2024 alone, new locations have opened their doors in Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas, and more is in store for 2025, Arturo told us, including Bars in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Hawaii.
