Cool as a Cucumber
Fragrant and refreshing, this is a fun introduction to sake, a fermented “rice wine” made in Japan. Mixed with cucumber and Midori®, a melon-flavored liqueur that also hails from Japan, the finished drink is not too strong and has a striking bright-green hue.
Makes 1 drink
¼ cup chopped seedless cucumber, plus 1 cucumber wheel for garnish
2½ oz. sake
1 oz. Midori®
½ oz. fresh lime juice
Muddle the chopped cucumber in the bottom of a cocktail shaker to extract as much juice as possible. Add the sake, Midori®, lime juice, and ice. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with the cucumber wheel on the rim of the glass.
