Swizzle This
Named for the swizzle stick used to make it, a swizzle is a tropical drink mixed like this: Insert a swizzle stick (or long-handled spoon) in the center of a drink. Hold the stick between your palms and roll it repeatedly to quickly combine the ingredients.
Makes 1 drink
2 oz. spiced rum
1 oz. John D. Taylor’s Velvet Falernum® liqueur
1 oz. ginger liqueur
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
2 dashes Peychaud’s® Bitters
2 brandied cherries, for garnish
In a Collins glass, combine all the ingredients except the cherries. Fill the glass halfway with crushed ice. Insert a swizzle stick or long spoon into the drink and mix by rolling it between your palms. Top up the drink with more crushed ice. Garnish with the brandied cherries skewered on a cocktail pick.
